Helping Those in Need

We often take for granted the blessings we enjoy, even when so many people around the world are struggling to survive. Starvation, disease, hardships and disasters take their toll everyday on this earth, demanding the need for humanitarian assistance. In the spirit of Christian brotherhood you may ask yourself, "What can I do to help?"  In an effort to help you help someone else, we have put together some links to sites where you can share your blessings with those who are less fortunate.

The American Red Cross
, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers, guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement, will provide relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.

Catholic Relief Services

The fundamental motivating force in all activities of CRS is the Gospel of Jesus Christ as it pertains to the alleviation of human suffering, the development of people and the fostering of charity and justice in the world.

World Vision

They extend assistance to all people, regardless of their religious beliefs, gender, race, or ethnic background, and seek to enable the world's children to realize their God-given potential by tackling the root causes of poverty.

United Ways
throughout America, through a vast network of volunteers and community service agencies,  help meet the health and human-care needs of millions of people every day. United Way's 113-year history is built on the proven effectiveness of local organizations helping people in their own communities.

Operation Blessing
International Relief and Development Corporation is a non-profit humanitarian organization based in Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA. Since 1978, Operation Blessing International has touched the lives of more than 175.1 million people in 96 countries and all 50 states.

CARE
is one of the world's largest private international relief and development organizations. CARE reaches out to people whose lives are devastated by humanitarian emergencies, or who are struggling each day in poor communities to survive and improve their lives.

The Salvation Army
works in just over 100 countries internationally using more than 140 languages. There are over 14,000 Corps (centres for worship) as well as a wide range of social, medical, educational and other community services.

Inspired by Gospel values, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, a Catholic lay organization, leads women and men to join together to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to those who are needy and suffering in the tradition of its founder, Blessed Frederic Ozanam, and patron, St. Vincent de Paul.
